Deputies compete in arrest competitions

Deputies compete in arrest competition (Local)
In one of the most violent areas in the world, a Southeast L.A. police department decided to have competitions in the number of arrests a deputy could make in a period of time. In one such instance, an e-mail was sent through the department challenging all officers to see how many people they could arrest in a 24 hour period. Authorities outside of the department are calling this foul play and have stated that they have never heard of anything like this ever occurring before.
Being a police officer and protecting our communities requires a certain professional presence and ethics code. A police officer is there to protect the community and its citizens, and in an area like L.A. there is no time for fun and games of this nature. ‘Operation Any Booking’ is a disgrace to the profession of Law Enforcement and these police officers involved have obviously taken advantage of the powers vested in them by the community and should be fired.
